At Pebworth First School, we value each and every one of our children as they are all unique and can show off their strengths in a variety of ways. We firmly believe in delivering a curriculum that includes all our children, regardless of their needs.
We aim to develop and effective working partnership with parents and appreciate that a lot of learning takes place in the home as well. As a school, we would like to ensure home-school links are robust and that we can have an open and honest discussion about a child’s individual needs and how we can best support them.
As part of our Assess, Plan, Do, Review process for children on our SEND register, we regularly review a child’s needs and how we are supporting them within school. Parents and children are key contributors to this process and we aim to make our provision as child-centred as possible.
Discussions about children occur regularly between staff and any concerns about the progress that a child is making can be identified and supported at the earliest convenience. We have a strong team of teachers and TA’s that have had a range of experiences over the years of supporting children with a wide variety of needs.
One bonus of being a small school, is that we can give our children a higher adult: child ratio than other schools, as well as being able to make our curriculum more personalised to meet the needs of all of our children.
